Caucus

Have I told you about the time that I forced Brent to sit through a two-hour "waterless cookware" seminar because we could earn a free weekend hotel stay somewhere (yes, I'm a total sucker)? It's been many years ago, but I've had a long-standing debt to Brent ever since. Well....going to the caucus last night PAID OFF that debt!! In fact....I might now have a credit....

Last night was a ZOO! We've never seen such a disorganized mess--it was chaos! Brent was so excited to go--everything he'd read said we'd get to listen to neat speakers and talk to people, but it turned out to be completely different than we expected. The only speaker we got to listen to was the lady behind us with a New York accent that had a comment on everything we talked about. Plus, she kept touching me...she weirded me out a little. We waited in line (with my touchy new friend) for close to two hours before we made it into the auditorium, and then they just counted us and let us leave. Such a bummer! I felt bad for Brent.

Kelly watched the kids ("poor Kelly" said Dad--he thinks we abuse her, I think), and in hindsight I wish we would have ordered pizza and hung out with her! When we left the caucus, it was really snowing--Brent had a hard time knowing which lane he was in. But, we picked up hamburgers on the way home and snuggled up with the kids, so the evening at least ended well!

p.s.--We didn't buy any waterless cookware, in case you're wondering. :-)

...important question is: DID YOU GET THAT TRIP?!!! p.s. sorry about the terrible caucus experience. Who were you there to support?

The five of us: Brent, Jennifer, Sophie, Blake & Graham said...

Christy, we DID get the trip--it was a hotel stay somewhere...now I can't even remember. :-) Maybe we didn't even use it???? That's insult to injury...

We were supporting Clinton! I do like Obama, though--I'd love to see them run on the same ticket. Don't get me wrong--I think McCain is a great leader, too, but I'm a little leary of his support of the war. I'm afraid we'd still have troops there when Sophie has kids if we don't get this resolved.
